Golf Associations

  • Men's Golf Association
    • The Men's Golf Association puts on a wide variety of events mixed with fun and competition from April through November. The golf event schedule is evaluated and subject to change each year by the golf committee and the golf professionals. Outside of the set schedule of events, blitz's and everyday groupings make it easy for a newcomer to find a game or someone to pair up with. If you are just looking for a fun event, putting championships and beach golf make it accommodating for all skill levels. Joining the Men's Golf Association goes hand-in-hand with friendships, golf buddies and good times.

    • James River Country Club has always been known for its strong junior golf program and great junior golfers that come from the Club. The golf professionals put on a first class junior program for all ages, covering all skill levels from a beginner to an advanced player.

Junior Golf Program (Designed for Young Golfers)

The Junior Golf program is designed to introduce young golfers to the game in a fun, yet educational environment. All aspects of the game are covered including putting, chipping, bunker play, full swing, rules and, most importantly, safety and golf etiquette. Golf is a sporting activity that juniors can enjoy and compete in throughout their lives. There are many aspects of the game that have a direct correlation to things in everyday life. If some of these things can be instilled at a young age, a person has a better chance in becoming a good golfer, as well as a well-rounded person.

Advanced Junior Golf Program (Designed for Intermediate or Advanced Golfers)

For a junior golfer seeking golf instruction at a higher level, the golf professionals provide a first class program for you. Juniors can receive detailed lessons in a group or individual format in a comfortable, learning environment. With a small student-to-teacher ratio, juniors are busy in the summer preparing for their Junior Club Championship that wraps up the season.

      Some Junior Events include:
      • Two- Week Long Junior Camps
      • Tournament Series
      • Junior Golf Banquet

      • Putting Championships
      • Junior Club Championships
