A full-service, private club providing golf, tennis, aquatic and social activities, along with banquet and dining facilities for its membership.

Located on the banks of the historic James River, James River Country Club (JRCC) was founded in 1932. A very unique feature of the Club is its world renowned golf museum located in the clubhouse. Many golf artifacts can be found within from the early conception of golf to more recent golf memorabilia.

The James River Country Club golf course and clubhouse were officially opened during the Fourth of July weekend in 1932. For the residents of the Peninsula, it combined the facilities of the old Newport News Golf and Country Club -- which was opened in 1924 and occupied the present site of Stuart Gardens in Newport News -- with the Tidewater Club -- a city club which was organized in 1919 and was housed at the foot of Thirty-fourth Street.

Our Club provides its members with unique activities and amenities to be enjoyed by the whole family.
