Membership
To define how membership occurs:
James River Country Club (the "Club") is a Virginia non-stock corporation which is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership at the annual meeting of the members held in February of each year.
Applications for membership are submitted to the Board by a Sponsor and a Co-Sponsor, each of whom must be members in good standing of the Club. The Sponsor and Co-Sponsor must each write a letter in support of the application and they are also responsible for introducing the prospective member to at least three members of the Board. Only individuals may be considered for membership.
The approval of the application and extension of an invitation to join the Club is in the sole discretion of the Board. In considering applications for membership, the Board shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin. A membership is not effective until the prospective member pays or qualifies for a payment plan for the payment of the initiation fee and the purchase of the required number of shares of stock for the applicable class of membership.

MEMBERSHIP SPECIALS
Active Social (A) ORIGINAL 17,500 – NOW $10,000 with a $1,000 food and beverage credit for primary sponsor. The initiation can be financed at $200 per month.
Active Athletic (AA) ORIGINAL $17,500 –NOW 12,500 with a $1,000 food and beverage credit for primary sponsor. The initiation can be financed at $200 per month.
Junior Social (D) ORIGINAL $6,800 (plus the difference in A membership category initiation upon turning 38) – NOW $6,800 FLAT RATE with a $500 food and beverage credit for primary sponsor. The initiation can be financed at $100 per month ($3,200 Savings - Tremendous Deal)
Junior Athletic (DD) ORIGINAL $7,800 (plus the difference in AA membership category initiation upon turning 38) – NOW $7,800 FLAT RATE with a $500 food and beverage credit for primary sponsor. The initiation can be financed at $100 per month ($9,700 Savings – Tremendous Deal)
*Past Members that left James River Country Club in good standing can return and regain their membership for $1,000 plus stock purchase
*Legacy Membership – Any child of a member can join the club at 75% of the current initiation.
